Pabineau Healing Week: Unite, Heal, and Celebrate Together!

Join Us for Pabineau First Nation’s Healing Week!

This January, Pabineau First Nation invites all community members to participate in Healing Week, a series of events designed to promote well-being, cultural connection, and community growth. Healing Week is about coming together to share, learn, and heal as individuals and as a community.

What to Expect

Healing Week features a variety of events and activities to nurture the mind, body, and spirit:

  • Talking Circles (Jan 19, 1–3 PM at the Bandhall)

Join this open and welcoming space, led by Brittany Lynn Gray, to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Begin with an opening prayer by Phyllis Ignacz, followed by the sacred Pipe Ceremony with Steven Randy. Snacks and Tim Hortons will be provided to encourage a relaxed and comforting atmosphere.

  • Men’s Group (Jan 21, 5–7 PM at the Health Center)
Explore what it means to "be a man" in today’s world through open discussions and activities like The Mask You Live In. Share your thoughts in a supportive environment while enjoying supper.

  • Youth Night (Jan 22, 3–6 PM at the Youth Center)
A fun-filled evening hosted by Alisha Nini and Child & Family Services, featuring games, giveaways, and supper for the youth in our community.

  • Community Crafting Night (Jan 24, 5–8 PM at the Bandhall)
Join local artisans for cultural crafting sessions. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crafter, this is a great way to connect with others while learning traditional skills. Meal included!

  • Mandala Art Workshop (**LOCATION UPDATED** Jan 23, 5–7 PM at the Band Hall)
Discover the power of creativity and connection through mandala art, led by Jolyane Aubé, a registered OT, and Dr. Alex-Anne Lamoureux, a resident in psychology. Why Healing Week Matters

Healing Week is more than just a collection of events—it’s a chance for our community to come together, strengthen bonds, and celebrate our culture. It’s an opportunity to reflect, connect, and support one another on the path to wellness. Each activity is rooted in respect for our traditions while offering modern approaches to healing and community building.

How to Get Involved

All events are open to community members, and many require no prior experience. Whether you’re interested in exploring creativity through crafting, reconnecting with cultural traditions like drumming, or finding balance through Reiki, there’s something for everyone during Healing Week.
