Exciting news for fishers in First Nation communities! We’re offering two special training courses designed to enhance skills and ensure safety in marine operations. These courses, hosted by Anqotum and the Canadian Coast Guard, provide valuable certifications and are tailored for our community fishers.

Available Training Courses

1. Restricted Operator Certificate – Maritime Commercial (ROC-MC)

  • When: January 27-30, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

  • Where: Rodd Miramichi

  • What You’ll Learn: Gain essential skills for operating the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) in Sea Area 1.

2. Marine Basic First Aid (MBFA)

  • When: February 6-7, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

  • Where: Travelodge Miramichi

  • What You’ll Learn: Acquire the fundamental knowledge and skills to provide First Aid in a marine environment.

Accommodations and Reimbursements
