About Patricia Roy
Patricia Roy has dedicated over 52 years to the field of nursing, amassing a wealth of experience and expertise in public health. She embarked on her journey in 1969 with a Nursing Diploma from Hotel Dieu Saint Joseph Bathurst School of Nursing, earning her RN qualification. Her dedication to continuous learning is evident through her extensive list of certifications, including Reality Therapy, People Development, Wound Care, and Public Health Immunization standards.
Patricia's journey at Pabineau First Nation began in 2001 as the Home & Community Nurse Coordinator, a role that evolved to encompass Community Health Nurse and Health Director responsibilities in 2006. Recognizing her leadership qualities and commitment, she assumed the role of Accreditation Lead with the support of staff and council in 2014.
With over three decades of public health nursing experience, Patricia has significantly contributed to Pabineau First Nation's health and wellness. Her bilingual proficiency in French and English is an asset, aiding her in effectively engaging with the community. Patricia's accolades include the Margaret Levi Memorial Nursing Leadership award of Excellence for her unwavering dedication to the health and wellness of Pabineau First Nation, as well as a "Beyond the Call of Duty" award from Health Canada.
Throughout her career, Patricia has overseen a multitude of vital programs, from Immunization and Pre-Natal & Post Natal initiatives to Mental Health and Addictions, Aboriginal Diabetes, and Sexual Health Services. Her leadership has been recognized by the NB Department of Health, earning her the Leadership Award for Women's Health in Atlantic Canada.
With her rich nursing background and extensive program oversight, Patricia continues to make a lasting impact on health and wellness at Pabineau First Nation, embodying the essence of dedication and leadership in nursing practice.
