Get Ready for the 2023-2024 School Year
Summer days are dwindling, and back-to-school excitement is on the horizon! As we gear up for the new academic year, it's time to mark your calendars for the first bell – school officially starts on September 5th, 2023.
Here's a special message from Anglophone North to ensure a smooth transition into the new school year:
Start Dates for Different Grades:
Grade Seven Students: The eagerly anticipated first day of classes for grade seven students is Tuesday, September 5th. This will be a day of embarking on new adventures, meeting teachers and classmates, and setting the tone for a year of growth.
Grades Eight to Twelve: Students in grades eight through twelve will commence their academic journey on Wednesday, September 6th. The halls will buzz with excitement as these students enter a new chapter of their educational endeavours.
Getting Ready for Day One:
For the students in grades 7-8, there's a simple checklist to ensure a seamless start:
1. School Supplies: To kick off the school year prepared, students in these grades are kindly requested to bring a total of $80 during the first week. This sum includes $30 to cover the cost of all necessary school supplies.
2. Student Council Fee: An additional $50 is requested, which covers the student council fee and the locker fee. This contribution helps facilitate student activities and provides access to a secure locker space.
As for students in grades 9-12, the school supply requirements will vary based on their chosen classes. However, it's important to ensure they bring the basics for the first day: paper, loose-leaf, binders, pencils, and pens. Teachers will communicate if any other specialized supplies are necessary.
Student Fee and Financial Matters:
For students in grades 7-12, a $50 student fee remains consistent. This fee contributes to various student-oriented initiatives throughout the year. Parents are kindly asked to ensure this fee is paid to the student's first-period teacher during the first week of school.
As we gear up for another exciting school year, let's remember the sense of community and growth that comes with learning. Whether you're a bright-eyed seventh-grader or a seasoned high school student, each day is an opportunity to embark on a journey of discovery.
Get those backpacks ready, pencils sharpened, and minds open – the 2023-2024 school year is just around the corner!
