PABINEAU FIRST NATION EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Position: Water Apprentice / Short-Term Project
Job Summary: Under the mentorship of a certified water operator, the apprentice will develop essential skills to support the community’s water operations. This hands-on role offers a pathway to achieving Level 1 and Level 2 certification through the NB Provincial certification program.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform routine tasks for the operation and maintenance of water systems.
Engage in both formal and informal training to enhance technical knowledge.
Pursue Level 1 and Level 2 certification as per NBCC and environmental regulatory standards.
Progressively handling complex maintenance and repairs within the community’s water infrastructure.
Conduct regular sampling and testing to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Provide emergency support outside of regular hours, including on-call and weekend duties.
Assist with snow and ice clearance to maintain accessibility to water facilities during winter.
Support additional public works projects as needed.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience with equipment maintenance is beneficial.
Additional Requirements:
Clean criminal record.
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks.
Availability for extended hours and emergency response.
