PABINEAU FIRST NATION EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Position: Water Apprentice / Short-Term Project

Job Summary: Under the mentorship of a certified water operator, the apprentice will develop essential skills to support the community’s water operations. This hands-on role offers a pathway to achieving Level 1 and Level 2 certification through the NB Provincial certification program.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Perform routine tasks for the operation and maintenance of water systems.

  • Engage in both formal and informal training to enhance technical knowledge.

  • Pursue Level 1 and Level 2 certification as per NBCC and environmental regulatory standards.

  • Progressively handling complex maintenance and repairs within the community’s water infrastructure.

  • Conduct regular sampling and testing to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

  • Provide emergency support outside of regular hours, including on-call and weekend duties.

  • Assist with snow and ice clearance to maintain accessibility to water facilities during winter.

  • Support additional public works projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Experience with equipment maintenance is beneficial.

Additional Requirements:

  • Clean criminal record.

  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

  • Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks.

  • Availability for extended hours and emergency response.

Wages: to be discussed during interviews
