Community Water Monitoring
Water is a precious resource.

As the Pabineau First Nation’s Community Water Operator, it is my responsibility to ensure that our community water system produces potable drinking water that meets or exceeds the Canadian Drinking Water Standards. I am responsible for monitoring our community water supply by testing for bacteria, such as coliform and E-coli.

My responsibilities also include making certain that our community and private home water treatment equipment is functioning properly and testing for other elements that may impact our water supply. I am a Certified Water Operator, certified under the Circuit Rider Training Program (CRTP), which covers water treatment plant operations and water line distribution technology.

I work in conjunction with Health Canada as a Certified Community Based Water Monitor (CBWM). I also provide information on private wells for home owners related to well care and maintenance.
