Hi, my name is Amanda Peter-Paul and, as an employee of 4 Directions Child and Family Services, I manage the Headstart and After-School Program for the Pabineau First Nation. These educational programs are designed for the children of our community who are between the ages of 0 to 6.Pabineau Headstart and After-School Programs
The Pabineau Head Start program operates from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:00am to 2:20pm. All children engaged in the Headstart Program between these hours must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The Pabineau After-School Program operates from Monday to Friday between the hours of 2:20 to 4:00 PM. The community school bus drops off participating children at our facility where they become engaged in guided educational and play activities.
We strive to improve the quality of life for Mi’kmaq children through the provision of positive, contemporary, and traditional teachings. The program encourages children to enhance, find, and grow their language, interaction, and motor skills through physical play and exercise. Twice a week we have an elder from the community that comes in to teach our children a fun and educational way to learn our native language. Upon request, we can help your child with his or her homework and can voluntarily assist with other educational needs that may arise.
The Pabineau Head Start and After-School programs shut down its operations for the summer months of July and August to accomodate a number of summer learning and activity programs.
