Sandra Boone (GED/Adult Education Program Instructor)
Education is the passport to your future!
As the Adult Education/GED Instructor here at Pabineau First Nation, I provide one-on-one instruction in Math and Language Arts to adult students who are preparing themselves to further their education or for those who just want the satisfaction of earning their high school diploma. I have 33 years of experience in the public school system as a teacher and principal in various schools in School District 15. After my retirement in 2006, I continued to work in the school system as a supply teacher until June of 2012. That September I was fortunate to be offered the position of Adult Education/GED Instructor at Pabineau. This was my first experience in teaching adults, and the last three years have been very rewarding. I love working with the adult students in my class here at Pabineau.
Classes are held three days per week (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday ) from 9:15 am until 3:15 pm. We break for an hour at noon each day. New students are assessed prior to starting classes, and begin work at their appropriate level. Students work at their own pace, and receive individual instruction as needed. Most of the materials are provided for the students. There is no charge for the class.
If you have not completed high school, and have been thinking about upgrading your education, why not join our class here at the Pabineau First Nation Band Office. A high school diploma can open many doors which can lead towards an exciting new career, a college diploma or a university degree. Drop in to visit us, and see for yourself how we operate and what we are learning. I would be very happy to sit down and discuss with you any questions you may have.
