Elders Engagement

The Chief and Council acknowledge the importance of respecting the voice of our elders and engaging them in community activities. In recognition of their various contributions to the community and provide a financial contribution to their households, we employ all elders within our community to work at either the Community Health Center or the Pabineau First Nation Community Center one day per week. In March 2016, an Elder’s Lounge was constructed within the Pabineau Community Center, where elders are free to congregate, socialize, and enjoy each other’s company. We take pride in integrating elders into community activities, as they are wise mentors and have much knowledge to share.
